2. SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
This policy explains how RangeFilms processes personal data through the RangeFilms website and through Range Social Publisher / Post Studio, an internal tool used by authorised RangeFilms users to connect professional Instagram accounts, prepare content, and publish or schedule approved content.
3. INFORMATION RECEIVED THROUGH INSTAGRAM
When an authorised user connects an Instagram professional account through Instagram Login, the application may receive and store:
• the Instagram account ID, username, and account type;
• the permissions granted to the application;
• an access token and its expiry information;
• media, captions, and publishing instructions deliberately selected by the authorised user; and
• publishing container identifiers, status information, and error messages returned by Instagram.
The application requests only the permissions needed to identify the connected professional account and publish content selected by the user. It does not use Instagram data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
4. HOW WE USE THIS INFORMATION
We use the information only to display connected accounts, authenticate authorised publishing requests, create and publish approved Instagram media, monitor publication status, manage scheduled jobs, diagnose errors, and protect the application from unauthorised use.
5. LEGAL BASIS
Where the GDPR applies, processing is based on the authorised user’s consent and instructions, performance of requested services, RangeFilms’ legitimate interests in operating and securing its production and publishing workflows, and compliance with legal obligations.
6. STORAGE AND SECURITY
Instagram connection credentials used by Post Studio are stored locally on an authorised RangeFilms Windows computer and protected using operating-system encryption. Drafts, schedules, and publishing records are maintained within the RangeFilms production environment. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
We do not sell Instagram data or share it for third-party advertising. Data is sent to Meta Platforms, Inc. and Instagram only when necessary to authenticate the account or carry out a user-requested publishing action. The RangeFilms website is hosted using WordPress.com services provided by Automattic. Automattic’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Other embedded services may receive technical information when a visitor loads embedded media.
8. RETENTION
Instagram connection information is retained until the account is disconnected, the token expires, access is revoked, or it is no longer needed. Locally stored drafts, schedules, and publishing records are retained until deleted or no longer required for the production workflow. We may retain limited records where required for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
9. DATA DELETION AND REVOKING ACCESS
An authorised user can remove a connected Instagram account in Post Studio by opening Settings, locating the Instagram account, and selecting Disconnect. This removes the locally stored connection for that account. Access can also be revoked through the user’s Instagram or Meta account settings.
To request deletion of data controlled by RangeFilms, email info@rangefilms.studio with the subject “Instagram data deletion” and identify the relevant Instagram username or account ID. We will verify the request and delete data we control unless retention is legally required. We aim to complete valid requests within 30 days.
10. WEBSITE DATA
When visitors use this website, the hosting provider may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, security logs, and cookies. Information submitted through a contact form is used only to respond to the enquiry and for related business communication. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor had visited the originating website.
11. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to request data portability.
